Meet our Leadership Team

Welcome to Maymont Preschool!

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new principal of Maymont Preschool. I am truly honored to join this vibrant school community, and I look forward to working with our amazing students, families, staff, and community partners as we begin this new chapter together.

This year, our theme is “Ready, Set, GROW!” a celebration of the learning, curiosity, and personal growth that happens every day at Maymont. Together, we will create an environment where our children not only learn but also flourish, developing the skills and confidence they need for a bright future.

I bring 15 years of experience in education, beginning right here in Richmond City Public Schools as a PreKindergarten teacher. Over the years, I have taught Kindergarten, 4th, and 5th grade, served as a Resource Teacher for two years, and most recently worked as an Associate Principal for five years in Henrico County. These experiences have shaped me as both an educator and a leader, deepening my belief in strong relationships, high expectations, and student-centered learning.

At the heart of my work is a deep love for children and a strong belief in the power of community. I strive to lead with empathy, humility, and purpose, always putting our students first. My vision for Maymont Preschool is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to explore, discover, and grow.

In addition to my passion for education, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, relaxing at the beach, getting lost in a good book, listening to music, and caring for my plants.

Thank you for the warm welcome into the Maymont family. I am excited for a school year filled with learning, laughter, and growth. I can’t wait to see how we will all “Ready, Set, GROW!” together.

With gratitude,
Ashley Pride
